So This Kure-Nai Girl is Not The Same as Jigoku Shoujo?
A very misleading OP. She doesn’t even APPEAR happy in this episode
It may be because I’ve only seen episode 1 but I dont get what’s so hot about this show. If the show was animated like the OP, then I would understand (also pictured above). Hell, if it looked like this, I’d be on this even quicker. Very Shana/Zero-ish isn’t it? Actually, it’s because of the aforementioned linked picture that I left this show off until now. The picture I see now for the MAL page is some ugly character design and the main reason why I put it off until now.
Another reason: Ever since I was a wee lad, I’ve sorta always had this reluctancy to start new things. Kure-nai is no exception. No, I do not totally hate this show, but it started off on the wrong foot. It was the way it ended that made me think that maybe there was more to it. It ended well enough to make me at least curious about what shenanigans they’ll eventually get into.
But this little girl, Kuhouin. I dislike her. Oh so much. This studio did a good job portraying her to be the oujosama that she is, but it may have been too god. She’s annoying and when I first heard her voice, not only did I think to myself “Holy crap, it talked”, I thought “Holy crap, it talked… and it’s going to sound so damn annoying, isn’t it? Dare I say, annoying ‘as Hell‘? “.
And indeed it did. I hate kids like this. I hate them in real life and now I dont plan to watch an animated one.
I can sorta see where this show is going and it could get interesting/funny here and there… but I want no part of this. I’m sorry, Sasa. You’ve been touting this show to me for so long but I cant get past her voice. Add that to the character design type that I’m not too fond of -for another example, see Paprika-, these two reasons alone outweigh my curiosity.
As you can tell, I’m not much of a follower of the 3 episode test (you watch 3 episodes of a show before you decide if you like it or not). Episode 1 was enough.
I dont even know what to say here.

I hate kids in general and I continued watching. Tsk tsk, the 3 episode test is really good, especially in the case of this season (besides Kurenai, Kaiba also comes to mind).
But now you’ll never know what you are going to miss, so whatever 🙂

Eh, it’s not that bad after a few episodes. Though I’m the kind of guy that watches everything, so my opinion doesn’t hold much water here.

For some odd reason I’m thinking the ending will be epic.

Haha, I liked this but I’ve stopped watching it due to the load of homework … I thought Murasaki was cute …

I actually really like the animation style of the show, but you’re right, the OP is very unfitting and misleading. I’m sticking with the show just because I’m up to Episode 8 so I might as well keep going. All in all, though, it’s a good show. But if you already don’t like the animation, I don’t know if you’d enjoy it because one reason I watch it is for the animation.

By episode 3, Kure-nai’s an incredible show that only gets better by episodes 5-6. Keep watching. You’ll get all the hype. Surprisingly, it’s better than the hype. Far better. The dialogue, character relationships, character themselves, and the direction have hooked me in like a madman.

Can I… just skip to episode 3? I mean… how much can I miss in an episode AMIRITE?

No, since episode 2 is almost as awesome as episode 3. :v

Watch it and stick to it. Kure-nai is awesome.
More awesome than Aya.
Wait, that’s not possible.
Close.

I too at first found Murasaki to be very annoying. But what did you expect when you drop off a little princess brat in the middle of the “real world”. The series does get better if you can stick through a couple of episodes. She gets less annoying, and more cute as she gets used her new living environment.

Yeah, I noted that she was portrayed exactly how I expect an ojou-sama would act in her position. The fact remains though that she is still annoying. But I dunno, if I run out of things to watch, I may continue.
