I had a magnificent time this weekend at Otakon -a post about that will come later- and one reason why it was so great was the time I spent watching AMVs. They were nothing short of spectacular… and I want to… try?

But I have no idea what the hell I’m doing. Help me out? Recommend me the right programs? If you know anything about doing all this, push me in the right direction. I want to move you like I was moved by this.

AMV making is no fun anymore. Everyone just produces shit for youtube, gets it removed/flagged for being too naughty. P.S. Don’t use Linkin Park and DBZ/Naruto.

I’ve never done an AMV but I’ve done some video editing and I always found Sony Vegas to be really easy to use.

AMVapp (which can be found on the AMV.org site) will give you almost everything you need, software-wise. The only things it’s lacking is your source material (duh) and a video editing program.

I use an old version of Adobe Premiere and am (slowly) learning how to use AfterEffects; again, on the Org’s site, there are a ton of How-To guides.

I’d be happy to provide any help or advice that I can, if you’d like? I’ve only completed one AMV (which can be found at http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=144798), but have three others in various stages of completion at the moment… Anyway, shoot me an e-mail.

Hinano? You’re saying it’s not fun to make AMVs because everybody else is making crap? So don’t make crap!

Ahhhh, I found it. I’ll have to save that project until next summer but thank you for the heads up. I’ve already got ideas in my head and I’ll check yours out.

Spot on with this write-up, I really think this web site wants rather more consideration. I’ll in all probability be again to read rather more, thanks for that info.

Hey there, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility issues.
When I look at your website in Opera, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping.
I just wanted to give you a quick heads up!
    Other then that, fantastic blog!
