You cant get away. It’s happened again. I may be relatively out of the loop when it comes to the Aniblogosphere but the moment I come back, I face this… this… I cant even describe what this is. From what I can tell from the polls so far, today’s readers are not inclined to remember my first post on Karoshi (the blog is now dead but luckily I’ve saved it here).

Let me tell you what happened in short: I was at a Geneon panel and they were giving out prizes if you answered their easy trivia questions. When it got to questions about Paradise Kiss, which at the time I knew plenty about because I’m a shoujo-boy and I was all over the show, I got really excited… BUT I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO ANSWER BECUASE IT WAS ONLY OPEN FOR GIRLS. “Shoujo is only for girls”, I was told by that stupid representative. Since then, I’ve always hated Geneon and I’m glad they’re out of business -and never to return?-. I’ll hold this grudge forever. I wanted that pretty hair tie thing, too…

Now the point of my post:

That sounds a little bit like this “All Girl” group that’s forming, does it not? What if I wanted to answer their round Robin questions? I cant because I cant join this group BECAUSE I’M “NOT A GIRL”. This quote just confirms it: “Be forewarned that you will be screened for nuts.” I have a bowl of pistachios RIGHT HERE, LADIES. LET ME JOIN.

…. LOLOLOL. Alright, I’m not actually pissed off. At Geneon, I still am, but this is rather creative. Kudos to these guys ladies. I believe some of my co-bloggers are participating in this, so I’ll hear all about it.

The real point of this post?: Some pimpage -pun intended… but in the non discriminatory way?… Crap-. As a community, we all like to stick together, whether we hate each other or … hate each other -lulz at those posts-.

Check out the links and if you’re a female blogger, join in the fun. If you’re a retired female aniblogger… join my team and THEN join that group. You know who you are.

LOL I knew you’d write this and I still remember your post. Why don’t you come to NYAf or something? We’ll have another reunion ;P

But Os, why are you so mad?
    Try to understand
that they do want you as a fan

    Sorry… couldn’t resist. 🙂

Wow that made me angry. “Shoujo is only for girls”? Have we no right as crossplayers, genderbenders and traps?

Anyway seriously the female cross-blogging project is always welcome as I hope to revive my shoujo fandom and attempt to lessen the more time-consuming eroge thingy. Hopefully we can find a way to counter-react to their group-think.

    I’ve always hated Geneon.

    Hey Os,

Don’t think we’ve met. So hi, nice to meet you. Now stand aside little boy, while I proceed w/ the new world order >=]

Epic lulz @ this post and ensuing comments. Thank you for the ping and promotion. I really appreciate it. If the guys were to come up with some kinda reactive boy-band group to this harmless round-robin, that would be even more interesting. *stamp of approval*

I feel obligated to comment, since I’m the originator of this hilarious drama.

Har. I was at the same Geneon panel. This was Otakon, uh, 2006 right? I don’t remember exactly.

I would have won the hair tie too, since I was the first to stand up and knew the answer, but I’m a guy and guys could never like shoujo, right? Right.

This year’s Otakon should be a blast with JAM Project and the aniblogging panel. You’re all coming, right? I mean every single blogger. You don’t want to miss JAM Project~ :v

    @bakaneko – I’m all for Rage
@bluemist – The Shoujo is for guys club…
@Scott – It’s all in the head, man.
@DrmChsr0 – Plants can only fill me so much…
    @Tim – I hate them
@itsun – ha ha, “little boy”, huh? I’M NAMING IT “THE SHOUJO IS FOR BOYS CLUB”, NOW
@Link – Ha ha, yeah, I was talking with Wildarmsheero about it ages ago and I sorta just assumed you were with him. Yup, it was 2006. I would’ve gotten the last question first, I guarantee. The answer is Tommy February6. I also knew the answers to the others at the time… Yup. I’ll be there this year. I have work Friday so I hope it’s not Friday. I’m trying to get out of work… and I’m not actually that into JAM project, truth be told. I should listen to them again, though.

When’s Otakon? If it’s anywhere between June 25 and August 8, forget it. I have a job 🙁

  12. Comment by OsNo Gravatar:

    August 8th – 10th, 2008

  13. Comment by LinkNo Gravatar:

Aww, lolikitsune. You know you want to meet little old me.

Haha no, you wouldn’t have won, Os. I stood up and I remember them shaking their heads at me in disbelief, and omo whispering at me to sit down. I did walk away from there with one or two prizes, even if they were junk.

Speaking of girls, maybe this year’s Otakon will be even greater with a licensing of Shugo Chara. I’m hooked on that show.

  14. Comment by TenNo Gravatar:

Hah. I remember that post. Heck, I remember going to that panel.

Damn, there’s an aniblogging panel this year in Ota?

  15. Comment by wildarmsheeroNo Gravatar:

stop being a faggot and watch real man’s anime like golgo 13 and mad bull 34

  16. Comment by LinkNo Gravatar:

Only real men watch Shugo Chara and Princess Tutu. <3

And what do you mean? You’ve never seen Mad Bull 34. You haven’t even watched Godannar!

  17. Comment by wildarmsheeroNo Gravatar:

    True

Doesn’t change the fact that Os is a shoujofag

  18. Comment by OsNo Gravatar:

    You tell him.

As for Shugo Chara… I actually dont know that much. I’ve only seen an episode and read a volume. But with the type of questions they ask… that may be enough.

And dude, I was like “why cant I answer?” and they were all “DUHH we’re stupid, shoujo is for girls” and I was all like “whatever *snap snap*”.

  19. Comment by LinkNo Gravatar:

Shoujo fans are awesome people. Look at me. I’m a highly superior person to a disgusting pedophile such as yourself… oh wait aren’t i a pedo too whoops

You should go watch Shugo Chara as soon as possible, Os. It’s the best magical girl series since CCS. If you’re not counting Princess Tutu, which isn’t pure magical girl.

  20. Comment by lolikitsuneNo Gravatar:

I might be able to make it to Otakon, depending on timing of flights and availability of capital.

  21. Comment by blissmoNo Gravatar:

Funny, no one’s ever asked my any anime-related things yet, probably because I’m still too young. And I haven’t even been to an anime convention before! *sob sob* My first time might be around this year though … Lucky bastards …

  22. Comment by issa-saNo Gravatar:

Oh puh-lease, the show that REAL men should be watching this season is none other than Junjou Romantica 😛

  23. Comment by TimNo Gravatar:

haha Tommy February6, speaking of which I remember after watching a couple of epsiodes of that I went and downloaded lonely in gorgeous to listen. It was catchy, but after awhile I felt less manly so I forgot about it for awhile.

issa-sa, oh god… upon hearing the word Junjou Romantica, I wondered why I haven’t checked it out yet, and did a quick google search. Then to my dismay I was reminded of why I didn’t venture in that direction. I don’t want to repeat another loveless incident.

  24. Comment by lolikitsuneNo Gravatar:

Loveless was a great show. Get over yourself.

LOL. I remember when in 2002 a lot of guys actually watched Gravitation for the lulz – looks like this trend didn’t carry over into ’08

  26. Comment by usagijenNo Gravatar:

    /me pats Os.
too bad you ran into *those* close-minded girls eh…

also, lulz… Junjou Romantica. REAL men will watch it, then end up losing all sense of manliness afterwards XD
