While Ten can post coherent thoughts and opinions regarding series, I generally fail. So instead I’ll do a roundup of what ridiculous self involved manga that have caught my eye recently..
(Sorry no caps/Illustrations tonight cos’ I sorta suck!)First on the chopping block: 100% Perfect GIrl. If you feel your heroine has to be the artistic type that gets kidnapped or mentally depressed every chapter, hallelujah, this is perfect for you. If the mafia ISN’T kidnapping heroine Jay, the chapter is filler. We all hate filler, right?
While she’s at it, Wann (author of above emo-centric series) also caught my destructive eye with ‘Can’t Lose You’… Twins seperated at birth play prince & pauper, shit goes down with hawt bishounen stock standard fare… I lose all faith in shoujo comics right about here..
Until Ten let drop the fantastic Matsuri Special… which is much better than the rather overrated (go on kill me fangirls!) Hana Yori Dango or the really shite Cat Street (I expected SO MUCH MORE!). MS is pure fun awesome, and it has been a long time since I last enjoyed a good comic. For gawds sake lookit, Im freaking reading 100% PG … EWWW!
Actually, if you are wanting some awesome story check out ‘The Bride of the Water God’ (Coming soon to a mega money hungry agent near you!), though while the character design is awkward and at times the narrative can be confusing, in whole the story is rather provoking. (Bet you thought I wouldn’t use that big word tonight!) But seriously, its one of the few series that actually keeps me coming back for more.
I know this isn’t a long (or even very informative) post but I’d like to also know if anyone is following along with ‘Gekka no Kimi’…. I seriously love this one but have only just started reading it like last night.
Anyway, my rambling all aside, watch for tomorrows ‘Ridiculous 100% PG Update (which we all know will be major drama…

I started reading Gekka no kimi, but around the second or third volume it got really confusing- and pretty stupid. So I dropped it. I felt dissapointed as the first volume was very moving. The rest fell short, got boring. Mainly I didn’t really understand what was going on ^_^
I’ve heard alot of Bride of the Water God, but I think if I will read I’d only read for the art. Apparently it’s really confusing. But it would be good if it’s like you said and thought provoking : ) I hear mixed reviews on it…

Word on the Bride of the Water God. A wonderful combination of an awesomely beautiful artwork and an awesomely gorgeous storyline. I fell in love with it when I was perusing random titles on one of the online manga readers. It has this mix of melancholy, sensuality, and drama. I love how the sensuality is far different from the smutty, gratuitous kind. So yep, I love this series.
Also, glad to pimp out Matsuri Special. I’m really enjoying that series. More so than Cat Street too. (BTW, HYD sacrilege? Off with your head! ;p)

@ Saya: Gekka no Kimi gets stupid? Noooo! I was really enjoying that series. Also you must check out Bride of the Water God! It is pretty fricken awesome!
@ Ten: LOL I knew I’d stir up someone with my HYD comment! Matsuri Special definitely has kept me amused every chapter so far, Cat Street was starting to bore the heck out of me.
