Manga Weekly: Sekirei, School Rumble, Bleach, Inuyasha, One Piece, and Tsubasa
It’s manga highlights once again. Bleach and One Piece remain strong. School Rumble still dwells on emo. Inuyasha takes a stumble. Tsubasa evokes nostalgia. Sekirei shows boobies.

Sekirei c.65
I used to have a crush on Kagari. At that time, I didn’t know it is a girl crush. And of course, Minato adds her to his harem. Minato might be your typical wimp, yet he’s strangely likable.
So for this chapter, we have exposed boobies, pantsu shots, girl fights, and tongue action (was there tongue?). I suppose I should offended. But no, I’m amused. For some odd reason, I have a high sense of appreciation to harem-type manga titles. This appreciation rarely follows in animated adaptations. If Sekirei was introduced to me through anime, I’d probably scoff at the series.
Inuyasha c.555
Kagome and Inuyasha are trapped inside the Shikon no Tama. The demons inside the crystal tempts missy into wishing for a selfish act. Inuyasha, on the other hand, fights the demons to get through Kagome.
Naraku’s death only revealed that the ‘real’ big bad of this whole series is the Shikon no Tama itself. I’m not sure if I’m impressed or disappointed. Then again, at this point, I just want this manga to end.
Bleach c.-100
I have nothing to add to this amazing flashback arc but one thing only:
AIZEN IS EVIL HAWTNESS IN GLASSES!
Is there an Aizen PVC? My last Bleach figs are Yoruichi and Rangiku, and I haven’t checked since then. I rarely buy figs nowadays but I’d get an Aizen.
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles c. 191
All together now: Awwwwww….
Ain’t chibi!Sakura and chibi!Syaoran cute? And all kinds of sweet? Then enter the Toya-Yukito couple. Their combined forces make me want to re-read CCS all over again.
While the ‘Aww’ factor wins in TRS, don’t you think that it’s disturbing that Sakura resembles his mother. Not to mention her namesake as well. Oedipus complex, much?
School Rumble c.275
SR morphs into shoujo romance. And yes, I’m loving it.
Tenma moves to the US, and she decideds to be a doctor. Why? But of course, all for the name of lurv. Of course, as audience members we need to abandon the practical side and the paper work involved in these things. Just accept that in SR world, this is believable.
After all these chapters, I can’t believe I actually like the Tenma-Karasuma pairing. Weird, but true.
One Piece c.501
HOLY SHIT! If you thought the previous chapter gave you enough excitement, read c.501. I mean, dude. After an agonizing wait, we are told of Ace’s fate in a good news/bad news sort of way. The good: HE’S ALIVE!! The Bad: An impending public execution is in his future.
Small note on the latest Gantz: Damn. That was disgusting.

Await for BECK next week, more OP and Bleach, and possibly Inuyasha. I’m not sure if we’re having Skip Beat on the next issue of Hana to Yume, but I’m looking forward til the 5th.
