Soul Eater Is A Bit Lacking
Yes, I’m quite aware this is a *pretty* late post. Forgive me, I just made this blog a few days ago.
But I’ve been thinking about posting about Soul Eater ever since I saw episode 1 while I was still temp blogging at Heterochromia. The reason I am finally blogging about it 6 episodes in is that I finally realized that simplicity is enough, really.
I’ve been watching the episodes while I was taking my finals and by now my hallmates -plus the bajillion people that wont get out of my room- know what show I’m talking about when I say “I’m going to watch the awesome show now, dont disturb me”.
That’s pretty much it. This show is awesome. The only thing this show really lacks is Aya Hirano. Still, I’m watching all 51 episodes.
There’s not much more to it. If you clicked “read the rest of this article” from the front page, it’s really just to trick you to stay on this blog longer. Gotcha! What more can I say?
This show is awesome. And uhhhh, I love Bones and uhhh, crisp animation is great, and uhhh awesome character designs/setting (I love the Nightmare Before Halloween–esque feeling yet I am NOT an EMO Hot Topic person), and uhhh I love Maka‘s amazing voice which can only be improved if voiced by my goddess Aya Hirano herself.

You’re right, it is awesome. But will it maintain its sexiness for the whole 51 episodes? Eureka Seven kind of crapped out towards the end in terms of animation but had all sorts of character drama to pull it through. Soul Eater just has awesomeness, which is entirely superficial. I hope BONES remember how important its looks are and budget accordingly. :/

What scares me is that Shinigami-sama is voiced by the guy who did Hakuoro in Utawarerumono and Takamura in Hajime no Ippo. Of course, Shinigami-sama is still the best character.
It’s funny that you mentioned Ouran, since Death the Kid is voiced by Miyano Mamoru, voice of Tamaki. Heck, Death has a very Tamaki-like vibe, being a neurotic bon-bon of a kid.

@Deranged – Should watch, good episode.
@Hige – I too fear if it can last long. Eureka 7 was great in the beginning, crappy in the middle, and better in the end. If anything, we’ll at least have a good beginning and end. But if they can make Ouran, a more recent title, keep it up for 24/25 out of the 26 episodes, I can accept that round number. *crosses fingers for animation*

just finish watching good anime through and through the only problem last episode, it sucked. the way the kishin was defeated was completely unimaginative, its like the writiers said fuk it at the end.
